Cams have implemented a new requirement for fire extinguishers as of 28 March this year.  Previously fire extinguishers could be used with a test date that was 6 years old, however the new regulation reverts to the old rule and all fire extinguishers must now be dated no more than 3 years prior the date of the event.  Please see the CAMS bulletin in the following link.

http://www.cams.com.au/Publications/Speedread/2012/March_2012/~/media/Files/Sport/Bulletins/2012/B12-034%20-%20Schedule%20H%20Fire%20Extinguisher%20Requirements.ashx

This will be enforced at the next event so ensure that you check your fire extinguisher prior to the event and replace/retest it as required.

It has been decided by the Autocross committee that the following changes will be made to the supplementary regulations for events organised by GMSC & WDCC at the Avalon track. Note that the Series Regulations (which can be found under FAQ – Class Eligibility) have also been changed to allow the use of tyres marked M+S, with the stipulation that “tyres with square shoulders are prohibited”.

The Committee thanks all those that have taken the time to research information and provide input.

Revision to the Supplementary Regulations:

(6) All vehicles: (a) Reconditioned tyres may be permitted at the discretion of the Scrutineers. Off road, rally or winter tread tyres are not permitted. Tyres with a square shoulder are prohibited.

Revision to the Class Eligibility:

2.2 WHEEL/TYRES
Replacement of steel wheels with alloy equivalents is permitted as is widening of steel wheels provided such change does not foul body or suspension and safety of competitor is not compromised.
Wheels/tyres may not protrude past bodywork. Wheel arch extensions etc. are allowed to be used to accommodate larger wheel/tyre combinations.

Tyre tread pattern must be of a “continuous circumferential tread type”. No rally, off road type or Winter tread tyres tyre designated as “M+S” are permitted. Tyres with a square shoulder are prohibited.

ENQUIRIES REGARDING TECHNICAL ELLIGIBILITY OF TYRES ARE TO BE FORWARDED TO AUTOCROSS COMMITTEE WHOSE DECISION WILL BE FINAL.
